I really enjoyed my stay at the Oranbega Retreat Center. I felt privileged to be able to concentrate in silence in a comfortable chair in a beautiful room and blot everything out, just work. Oranbega Retreat Center is an old house that seems new. Once inside you arestruck by the beautiful and artistic way it is furnished, and you can feel the appreciation of and devotion to the arts that pervades the atmosphere. And the people there are calm, nourishing, and alive to art and beauty of all kinds. The meals and discussions helped give me the strength to sit alone in my room for hours and write, just write. I highly recommend the Oranbega Retreat Center.

Perfect for writers

Thank you SO much for my stay at Oranbega Retreat Center! The serenity when you are in your room and on your walk is wonderful. The food is terrific, in fact I would add something to your website to show off images of your amazing, lovingly-cooked and -prepared spreads.
The bed is comfortable, the fireplace is magical and the windows out to the water are a gift. The option to play games with residents in the evenings is lovely. The recliner and desk are crucial additions to the River Room, which is perfect for the “writer” guest.

Greater than expected

You have made me feel safe and cared for in such lovely ways for the past month. Thank you for providing this beautiful sacred space for rest, nourishment, and creativity. The whole experience has been far greater than I ever expected. Your meals were not only delicious, but nutritious, along with meaningful conversations that emerged from our shared stillness of heart.
